If you hear the name of Android, it's not wrong if you immediately remember that it is a mobile operating system that it belongs to Google's recent speech was widely became public and began many ogled by the manufacturers of telecommunications equipment.

This time it comes with a different view, Android is now present as the x86 platform, which means that allow us to run this operating system in Asus Eee PC netbook, and also can run on a platform 32-bit x86.

A group of developers called the 'Android-x86'. Indeed the news itself has begun terendus by them since several years ago after creating several improvements which allow Android to run on x86 platform.

The purpose of this project itself is to provide a complete solution for Android-based Eee PC the first time and then provides solutions for common x86 platforms as well.

So far, this team has successfully tested this operating system which still use the Android 1.6 (Donut) on some models like the Eee PC 701, 701SD, 900, 900A, 901, 904HD, 1000, 1000HE, 1000HD, 1005HAG, S101, T91 ( VESA mode) and Eee Top 1602C.

This operating system reportedly also working on the Lenovo ThinkPad x61 Tablet. All the machines mentioned above size resolutions seem to run 480 or 800 × 1024 × 600 with i915 driver. Apparently this will also work on Linux Kernel 2.6.29 with KMS is enabled.

The next plan is to support an external monitor, improve bluetooth support, including power management, support multi-touch touchpad, 3G support and GPS
